Not a Hoppy Bunny!

Hmm, this is not going too well! 5 days after my birthday I fall down a spiral staircase on a night out to celebrate said birthday. Nightmare, a dislocated ankle and two broken bones now fixed in place with metal work and 6 - 8 weeks in plaster to be spent at my mum and dads. So much for independence.

The running and other physical activities are going to be on hold for some time, so I suppose I should concentrate on the more creative things on my list.

The worst thing about all this is that I feel so depressed about it, I keep bursting into tears, and I can't exactly run and hide in my room. I feel totally helpless and want my life back, even if its the boring one I have lived for the last 7 years. Karma, God or whoever obviously wanted to make a point!

1 day to go

I have started thinking about what I want to achieve this coming year. I have been putting my life on hold for a variety of reasons for years and haven't done anything relatively exciting in ages. So I got to thinking about things I would like to do; things I have put off until later, made excuses to avoid or am just too scared of to try.

Here is the list of 30 things I want to try in my 30th year (please note they are in no particular order, fear of death means number 2 is likely to take place later):

  1. Do a charity race
  2. Go skydiving
  3. Submit a story to a competition
  4. Have a painting displayed in public
  5. See the Northern Lights
  6. Stay in the Ice Hotel
  7. Go whale watching
  8. Swim with dolphins
  9. Visit Africa, Asia and South America
  10. Learn French
  11. Read Classical Fiction
  12. Go to a Health Spa
  13. Have high tea at a posh hotel
  14. Go to a Big Gig/Concert
  15. Go to a famous nightclub
  16. Go to a festival
  17. Travel Europe by train
  18. Go husky sledding
  19. Learn to ski
  20. Learn to rock climb
  21. Learn a musical instrument
  22. Have a tatoo
  23. Learn to surf
  24. Climb a mountain
  25. Volunteer
  26. Go rally driving
  27. Eat an oyster
  28. Ride a motorbike
  29. Eat at a celebrity restaurant
  30. Learn to dance
